In autumn 2022 the BID4BESt ITN (Big Data applications for Black hole Evolution Studies), supported by the European Union’s Horizon 2020 research and innovation programme under the Marie Skłodowska-Curie grant agreement No 860744 collaborated with EU Research magazine to promote the BiD4BESt doctoral training programme in one of the most fascinating and crucial open questions in astrophysics, the formation of supermassive black holes and their impact on the evolution of galaxies.
Researchers in the BiD4BESt network are using a variety of methods to learn more about the evolution of supermassive blackholes, as Professor Francesco Shankar explains. Shankar, F. (2022) ‘A deep dive into supermassive black holes.’ EU Research, Winter 2022, vol. (33), pp 62-64. https://doi.org/10.56181/QXAI6840
It has been an excellent opportunity working with a dissemination journal focusing on pioneering frontier research. Moreover, this innovative project is being communicated and hosted online to a much wider audience. The distribution throughout 33 countries in Europe to over 50,000 readers will have a far-reaching global association to a relevant audience in government, the private sector as well as academia. Additionally, it will be read by key people in national and European governments that control policy and research funding, leading scientific research institutes and major companies across industries in the private sector
